About the Presenters

Gregory R Liebert, P.E., CEM,GBE,CEA,HFDP Principal Liebert Engineering

John Butterfield, PE, LEED, CxAP, Senior Commissioning Engineer, Hallam ICS – Before joining Hallam-ICS in 1987, John spent 16 years in facilities operations and maintenance with three large multinational companies. John’s prior experience includes project engineering and management; in the areas of process systems and facilities engineering and operations. In his 30+ years with Hallam-ICS, John has played a leadership role in facilities and process commissioning and design.

Brent Weigel, PHD, PE, LEED-AP, BD+C, Senior Commissioning Engineer, Hallam ICS – Over 13 years of experience in managing, leading and supporting projects for commercial, institutional and government clients. Brent is experienced in design-phase and construction-phase commissioning of complex mechanical and electrical systems for LEED certified and high performance, academic facilities, health care facilities, athletic centers, and resorts.

Elizabeth Wilkins, PE, QCXP, LEED-AP BD+C, CHC Senior Commissioning Engineer, Hallam ICS – Before joining Hallam-ICS in 2010, Elizabeth spent 15 years in project management, public works, and environmental engineering. She has worked for the U.S. Navy in environmental program management and facilities project management. At HallamICS, Elizabeth has worked in facilities commissioning and retro-commissioning. Her commissioning experience includes building systems, medical clinics, a human tissue processing facility, research laboratories, and building LEED certification.

Learning Objectives

  • To share detailed information on ASHRAE energy audit levels and processes and how to use such data to drive master plans for the facility.
  • To share an overview of retro-commissioning for members, and to show benefits through real-work examples in area hospitals.
  • To discuss challenges to planning and retro-commissioning.
  • Networking between VHES and ASHRAE members, as well as supporting VHES members.
  • To support CEU needs of PE’s, CHFM, CHC and related professionals through the provision of comprehensive education.
